“The children at Polkadot Stratford have been very busy. Baby Dots have been exploring marks and movements, using paint, chalk and a variety of tools such as rollers and sponges. The children investigated the textures using their senses, especially using their hands in the paint.
Dots to Tots have been exploring the allotment area. Children engaged in natural exploration, using materials such as soil to create collage pictures. Using the big bricks has enabled the children to use their problem solving and risk taking skills, building, balancing and climbing on their constructions.
Top Dots have been very active in the outdoor spaces, using the allotment to observe the growth of vegetables and even pick some of the runner beans that have grown. The children were very fascinated by the texture of the runner beans.
Investigating in the nature classroom has been of keen interest, looking at insects and bugs to find in the outdoor area. Wellington boot painting has been good fun too, creating marks and movements in different ways.”
