‘The children at Gingham have become little gardeners this week. We have been planting our winter plants, looking at their properties such as colours and shapes of the petals. The children enjoyed investigating the flowers, looking at the roots and talking about the textures they could feel and see. The children used tools to dig and make holes for the flowers to go into. The flowers had a good water afterwards to help them grow, we will now be caring for the flowers over the next months, observing growth and change.
We have also been having great fun in forest school, we have used the muddy kitchen to create lots of ‘potions’ and ‘cakes’. We have enjoyed making dens using the natural resources. We worked together to create our dens and mud cakes, using our language and communication skills effectively’
