Gingham’s outing to Morrisons!

“The children at Gingham Pre School have recently been interested in creating shopping lists and using their imagination to engage in open ended play focusing on shops. To enhance the children’s interest, learning and development, a trip to Morrisons in the local community was planned by the children and practitioners. Before leaving to walk to Morrisons, the children decided they would like to make pizzas and made their own shopping list of ingredients needed. The list included, tomato sauce, cheese, mushrooms, ham and sweetcorn. The children used their own trolley to navigate around the shop, looking for items on their list. The use of mathematical thinking and problem solving was used by the children by looking at how much the items were, discussing if it was a big or small number. On arrival back to gingham, the children made their own pizzas to take home and enjoyed an ice lolly after all their hard work.”
