The children at Gingham Pre-School self-initiated interest in Treasure Maps. Creating maps together, the children made marks and movements using a variety of tools. Giving meaning to their marks representing the journey to the treasure: “Through the woods” “to the house” “over the fields” and “X marks the spot-that’s where the treasure will be!”. To enhance the children’s learning, interest and excitement, we made some treasure and went on our very own treasure hunt in the garden. The children loved hiding the treasure in lots of different places. Using the maps and their beautiful imaginative skills the children found the treasure!
